About Bvlgari
Sotirios Voulgaris, a Greek silversmith, opened his first shop in Rome in 1884, and the house has remained a jeweller first ever since — the Latin V on the storefront is its own deliberate affectation. Its move into perfumery came in 1992 with Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert, a green-tea accord composed by Jean-Claude Ellena that had no real precedent on the market and has been imitated steadily since. Part of LVMH since 2011, Bvlgari works in a restrained, materials-led register that owes more to the jewellery side of the business than to fashion.
